Rare and endangered, these pine trees are endemic to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve and Santa Rosa Island, CA. Long, graceful needles on red-brown bark give way to large, rounded cones. The delicious edible pine nuts are a traditional food for the Kumeyaay Nation of San Diego. Grows up to 100 ft tall x 60 ft wide, eventually, so give it the room it deserves. Plant in full sun in well-draining soil. Great for drought tolerant gardens and landscapes. Hardy to USDA zone 7.
