A low-growing, prostrate evergreen groundcover with green foliage and magenta flowers in spring and winter. Only 6-8" tall by 9' wide. Best in sun and lean, well-drained soil, with little water once established. Deer resistant. Clay, sand, drought and seacoast tolerant. Frost hardy into the low teens F, USDA zone 8. As with all Proteacea, avoid phosphorus fertilizer.
