Compact and sturdy to 2ft tall and wide - the clumps gradually spreading - plants are covered in the fall with bright purple flowers that bloom over a very long period and stand up against frost and fall drizzle. Sun to part shade with summer water. Still difficult to find outside collectorās circles these deserve a greater presence in the gardenerās autumn palette. Evergreen to 10F, USDA zone 8 and root hardy to -30, zone 4.
