Echinocereus coccineus

Colony-forming cactus with thick, 6-8in tall stems and long-ish brown and white spines. In spring, bright red-orange flowers appear, followed by red fruit. Clumps can include 100+ stems and eventually spread up to 3ft wide. Site in a  sunny, well-draining location with plenty of room to grow. Hardy to USDA zone 5.
