To 30 feet plus eventually with an upright habit and upturned gold-backed leaves. Creamy upheld fuzzy flowers followed by fruit resembling that of a chestnut. Best with bright north exposure where soil can remain as cool as possible. Little to no summer water especially when warm. Well drained mineral soil with low organic matter. Tricky but worth it. West coast only USDA zone 7.
